FinAdvice Malaysia began in 2018 with a simple observation: despite Malaysia's growing economy, many citizens lacked the fundamental financial knowledge needed to build wealth and secure their futures. Our founder, Ahmad Rahman, a former banking executive, witnessed firsthand how many Malaysians struggled with basic financial concepts, often leading to poor financial decisions that impacted their lives for years.
Starting with informal workshops in community centers around Kuala Lumpur, Ahmad quickly found that his straightforward, jargon-free approach to financial education resonated with participants. What began as weekend seminars soon expanded as demand grew rapidly. By 2019, he had assembled a small team of like-minded financial professionals who shared his passion for democratizing financial knowledge.
The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 presented both a challenge and an opportunity. With in-person workshops no longer possible, we pivoted to digital delivery, creating our online platform and expanding our reach beyond the capital to serve Malaysians nationwide. This digital transformation allowed us to refine our educational materials and develop the comprehensive resources that form the foundation of our platform today.
In 2021, we partnered with several Malaysian universities to develop specialized financial literacy courses, further cementing our reputation as a trusted source of financial education. Today, FinAdvice Malaysia has helped over 50,000 Malaysians take control of their financial futures through our workshops, online resources, and community support systems.
